THE GOETHE-INSTITUT IN TUNIS IS SEEKING A FULL-TIME PROJECT COORDINATOR

For its cultural and educational activities for Libyans/in Libya

From 01 January 2018 (or later) until 31 December 2018.

The post is limited to 12 months (with a renewal option).
Work place will be Tunis and Tunisian law will be applicable to the appointment.


ABOUT THE GOETHE-INSTITUT

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. It promotes knowledge of the German language abroad and fosters international cultural cooperation. Furthermore, it conveys a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information about cultural, social and political life in our nation. Its cultural and educational programs encourage intercultural dialogue and enable cultural involvement. They strengthen the development of structures in civil society and foster worldwide mobility.
The Goethe-Institut in Tunis has been active since 1958. Since 2017 it is also in charge of all activities related to Libya, such as a qualification program for Libyan cultural managers.


JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Preparing, implementing and post processing of cultural and educational projects for Libyans/in Libya
  • Budget monitoring and reporting
  • Providing support to marketing and communication activities
  • Evaluation and conceptional advancement of programs
  • Public relations with local and international partners
  • Replying to queries and internet research
  • Other tasks within the framework of the field of activity 

PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience in relevant field;
  • Proven competence and robust experience in project management;
  • Professional experience in the cultural sector or affinity for cultural questions;
  • Good knowledge of the Libyan cultural scene;
  • Understanding of social media and ability to market programs in line with the communications policy of the Goethe-Institut;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German, Arabic and French skills desirable;
  • Proficient use of MS Office packages;
  • Excellent administration skills, with a methodical approach and attention to detail;
  • Good time management skills and proven ability to work to, meet and ensure others meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an intercultural team;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external individuals at all levels;
  • Readiness to undertake business trips to Libya;
